About Paul

Paul K. McGinniss is Founder of Response-Able Consulting, Inc., an exceptionally client-focused consultancy that delivers business and workplace coaching to privately owned companies and public corporations to help them increase employee engagement, performance, and retention in pursuit of their personal and company visions. Prior to founding Response-Able Consulting, McGinniss was Director of Development at Time Inc., the largest magazine publisher in the world, and Director of People Development at Time Warner Book Group (now Hachette Book Group), one of the largest trade book publishers in the world.

During his nearly 20 years as a corporate leader, Paul has successfully coached people to achieve their objectives, working for some of the biggest publicly held corporations in the world to some of the smallest family-run businesses in the Long Island/New York area. Paul has succeeded in helping people reach their goals in various roles, including manager of a $5M sales unit and a 100-plus person service department. He was often called, “the best manager I’ve ever worked for,” by his former employees. Paul also brings a unique perspective to any workplace-coaching situation, applying a brain-based approach and his extensive experience in both the line (profit-focused) and staff (human resources) sides of a business.

Paul earned his Accredited Coach Certification (ACC) and his Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coach Federation. He bases his coaching on the brain-based coaching model of Results Coaching Systems, with whom he earned his Results Certificate of Professional Coaching. In addition to two appearances as a guest coach on Life Coach TV (a prime time live cable TV show in Manhattan), Paul is a Certified Strategic Business Leadership (SBL®) Coach, a Certified TAB™ Board Facilitator, president of the Long Island Coaching Alliance, an advisory board member of Long Island University's Paralegal Certificate Program, a member of the International Coach Federation, the American Counseling Association, his local Better Business Bureau (2008), and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, and a long-time former member of the American Society of Training and Development, the Society for Human Resource Management. Paul earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Economics from New York State College at Oneonta and his Master’s of Science in Human Resources Management from the New York Institute of Technology.

A strong believer in giving back, McGinniss donates a percentage of his company’s revenues to local charity, sits on the Farmingdale Civic Advisory Committee, and is a volunteer Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island and the ALS Association-Greater NY Chapter. He has endured many losses, the most difficult of which was the breakup of his first marriage. As a result, Paul created and now offers Divorce Coaching 4 Men: Survive the Fog of Divorcein an effort to help other men move more quickly and less painfully through divorce—considered the second most stressful life event.
